2)   What are some other stories of Christians sacrificing to change their world for God’s Kingdom?
3)   What do you think Jesus meant here when He said to follow him?
4)   Jesus said would be where he is, where is he talking about?
5)   Jesus said if we serve him then God will honor us. What does that mean?

6)   Have you ever thought about how awesome it is to be able to join with God in carrying out his work on earth? What do you think is the most important thing we can do to make that happen?

  1. If you heard Jesus' teaching for the first time, what would shock you about it? 
  2. What are some examples of the ways that teenagers struggle with anger? How do they express that anger towards others?
  3. What are some consequences of expressing our anger by insulting others? What about when we attack someone's character?
  4. Do you think that our inward attitude and thoughts are just as important as our outward behavior? Why or why not?
  5. Can holding on to anger bring you satisfaction? Why or why not?
  6. How would your life be different if you were sincerely concerned with your inward attitude? What behaviors would you change, or get rid of?
  7. How do our relationships effect our worship of God when they are strong? When they are damaged?

2)   How would you feel if a stranger randomly gave you a $100, just because they felt the need to give it to you?
3)   Were the rich people generous? Why/ in what way?
4)   Could you have given like the widow gave, i.e. her last amount of money?
5)   What are some we living in the 21st century can see our stuff as God's and not ours? What does that look like in how we live?
6)   When we place too much value on our stuff, how are we showing a lack of faith in God and His ability to provide for us?

7)   Where can you grow in your ability to show more faith in God as it applies to your attitude towards your stuff?

1)   Reread Text – Luke 12:13-21
2)   Jesus makes a powerful statement here in verse 15. In your own words, what is the truth Jesus is teaching here? (Make sure students understand that Jesus is talking about how futile it is to look for meaning in our possessions.)
3)   Why do you think people are so determined to seek out meaning and fulfillment in their possessions?
4)   Put Jesus words in verse 21 in context. What is Jesus trying to say in verse 21? (We should be careful about amassing too much stuff, which is almost always motivated by greed. The opposite of greedy is being giving and God wants us to be giving people.)

5)   Is it possible to have too much stuff?

1)   Reread Text –Mark 10:17-22
2)   TOUGH QUESTION – What do you notice about the commandments Jesus mentions verses the ones he left out? 
3)   Was Jesus saying that to have stuff or to be rich is wrong? What is the point of this story? 
4)   Activity – Look at your paper. On one side we have God and on the other we have stuff. Take a second and really think about what we talked about tonight. Think about your attitude toward material things. How much value do you put on them? How important is your stuff to you? If You were the rich young ruler and Jesus asked you to give everything away what would your response be?   DRAW A LINE ON THE METER TO SHOW WHERE YOUR HEART IS. IS IT MORE INCLINED TOWARD STUFF OR JESUS? Be honest this is just between you and God.
